Kid Quotes

One of the sweet little 3 yr old boys was talking to his teacher about the girl in their class who was the VIP. He kept saying she was the "black eye pea" and we couldn't figure out what he meant until we said "VIP" "black I P". He was saying black instead of the V. I was beginning to wonder if he thought she looked like Fergie!

Picture Day

Bell Photography will be taking individual and class pictures on October 12th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. There will be a flyer going home explaining package prices soon.

Play Makeup

We just made "play makeup" for the dramatic play centers and it turned out so cool. I just took an old eyeshadow case, cleaned it out good and then poured nail polish into the wells. Let it dry overnight and then they are ready for play. The girls LOVE them. Take a look.

Yesterday was a very hard time for our family. Leisa lost her son Ryan in a very tragic accident.

We ask for your patience as we try to keep the Academy up and running.

Our excellent staff will be available to take care of the needs of your children and help you in any way.


Leisa's son Tyson is in the Summerfest program and will be interacting with those children. Help your child understand how important it is to be kind and a good friend. He is doing well, but it will be hard for him to talk about it and try to explain what happened.

Wilderness Survival

A huge thank you to Matt Storms for the presentation on wilderness survival. The kids loved it. I learned several new things that I will implement personally as well as for the program. I hope the kids learned as much as I did. Thank you again!

3rd Session Of Swim Lessons

The money is due today for the 3rd session of swim lessons. They go for 2 weeks, Monday through Thursday and start on July 11th.

The 4th and final session goes from August 1 through 11th. The money is due July 5th.

Craft Day

For craft day we made duct tape bags or belts with a water bottle holder. The kids LOVED them and did such a good job. I have a feeling this will need a repeat on the schedule.

Summerfest

We started planning the activities for Summerfest and I'm so excited to get started. I'm really pumped about the crafts we are going to do. Metal stamping, plastic canvas, friendship bracelets, paper beads and so much more. By the way, does anyone have a recipe for homemade Mod Podge? We are going to use a LOT of it this summer and I would like to keep costs down.

Craters of the Moon is the first field trip of the summer and the kids are so excited. Pictures coming soon.

$50 Credit

Reminder:

When you recommend our center to a friend and they start attending, you will receive a $50 credit on your day care bill. The credit will be applied on the 6th week of attendance.

Production Crew

Tomorrow we will have a film crew at the center shooting footage to put together a promotional video for us. We will put it on this blog, on our website, and on our Facebook fan page. And if we ever win the lottery and can afford to buy a commercial spot on television we will be ready!

Miss America

We have a high school senior, Erica, who comes in a couple of days a week as part of a career exploration program with her school. The kids in my class love her and have so much fun with her. They just can't remember her name since she is only in our class a couple of days. Today, one of the little boys was going to ask her something and was trying to remember her name. He called out to her " Miss uumm Erica" and it sounded just like "Miss America". I think he totally made her day!

T-Ball

You know it's spring when it's time to start thinking about T-Ball!

Over the summer our kindergarten class has a t-ball team.

Residents of the City of Idaho Falls who have obtained a city rate card are eligible for a reduced rate of $35.00

When I came to work this morning there was a note from the mom of one of our adorable little 5 year old girls. It said:
"My daughter wanted to tell you that she changed her birthday to today :)"

I don't know if she wanted to get presents or just be older.

I wish it was that easy to get a fun day all for myself with presents. I would do it every week, just not the older part.

I have been wanting to get out in my yard and plant flowers so I had the kids in my preschool class bring water bottles and we made terrariums and planted wildflowers. They were so excited to see tiny green shoots in a couple of days. One of the little boys told me "My dirt is growing!" He'll be extra excited when he sees flowers!

Picture Day

Bell Photography will be here on Wednesday, April 20th, 2011 from 9:00am to 12:00pm to take pictures.

Every child will have their picture taken with their class and individually so we can include them in our yearbook. When the pictures come in you can preview them and decide if you want to purchase them.
